Can’t imagine life without the Internet? When it comes time to move, did you know that you can take your internet with you?

We all know how busy life gets when you’re moving. To ensure you don’t get left disconnected, our dedicated Node Relocations Team will help you move your internet and phone services. All you need to do is give us a call and we’ll handle the rest.

While we may not be able to help you pack up the boxes, we can make sure you get settled in at your new place with the broadband plan that suits your needs. Whenever and wherever you move in Australia, our Relocations Team are here to help you find the perfect plan for locations near and far and help you keep your phone and email address without the fees.

Check out these tips and tricks that will help you move your internet with ease. Are you ready to get moving?!

How do I arrange to relocate my broadband?

There are three options:

  1. The easiest and quickest way is to give our Relocations Team a call on 13 66 33. Selection 1, then 3;
  2. Alternatively, you can submit an online query on our website and we’ll call or email you back; or
  3. Log into My Internode and arrange your relocation by going to ‘My Services’ > ‘Relocate my services’. You’ll find a step by step guide here.

When is the best time to contact the Node Relocations Team? How much notice should I provide before moving?

We recommend contacting our Relocations Team as soon as possible before moving so we can ensure everything is ready to go for you.

What do I need to prepare at my new location for my relocation?

First things first, you will need to work out what type of connection will be available in your area. The easiest way to see what’s available is to check your new address on our website.

If you’re moving to an NBN™ area, you may need to consider where your equipment will be installed, and an appointment with an NBN Co technician might be needed to arrange this. This will depend on the type of technology available in your area, and if the NBN™ has already been connected to your new premises.

For those moving to an ADSL area, you’ll need an active telephone service for the connection to work (unless moving to Easy Naked). We recommend NodeLine, but most phone services that use Telstra as the carrier will be suitable. It’s important to keep in mind that there may be extra cabling costs if you’re moving to Easy Naked within an apartment building.

Do I need to start a new plan if I move?

As long as the same type of broadband is available at your new address, you may keep your current plan. However, if you’ll be switching to a different broadband technology, you may need to change plans. The easiest way to see what’s available is to check your new address on our website.

Can I keep my current phone number and email address and take them to my new address?

When you move with Internode, we’ll ensure that you can keep your current email address and continue emailing as usual so you don’t have the hassle of having to update and move all your contacts across to a new account.

When you contact the Relocations Team to lodge your change of address they’ll be able to check if you can keep your current phone number. Where possible, we’ll move your phone number to your new address.

How do I check the status of my relocation?

No checks needed! We’ll send you regular updates via email and SMS keeping you up to date with the progress of your relocation request.

Tips for making your move as easy as possible

1. Make sure that the previous tenants have cancelled their services at the new address. This will help speed up the process so that we can get your connection up and running as quickly as possible.

2. When viewing your new house, take note of how many phone/broadband sockets there are on the walls and which room(s) they’re located in. That way, when it’s time to move in, you know exactly where your modem can go or if you’ll need to purchase any network extension equipment or have a new socket installed before the service activates. This will make it easy to just plug and play once your new service is active!
