Superhero – a character in a film or story who has special strength and uses it to do good things and help other people.

This definition sums up our most revered heroes quite well. The word ‘superhero‘ dates back to at least 1917 with the well-known Robin Hood. We were introduced to Superman in 1938 and he has remained one of the most recognisable characters over the years, paving the way for a whole new genre of superhero.
